First, I’m gonna say it. These blog titles are gonna end up sounding like fancy chapter titles!

Okay, now on to the good stuff!

Dreams are absolutely wild. Like, I know there’s some science about the content of dreams, that all the faces are of people you’ve actually seen and stuff like that. But honestly, I just like the concept of dreams. You can be anyone or anything in dreams.

Take last night, for example. I had a dream that I was an actor in a film, but I wasn’t important. Like, I was supposed to be a “shadow” of a main part (just stick with me here!), so when the main actor was a ballerina, I was a diver (okay, I don’t even get it). And when the main actor was a diver, I was supposed to be a ballerina. But the producers/directors didn’t seem to care about me. I’d ask about where I needed to be, and I was just told “wherever, it doesn’t matter.”

And then at some point, there was a spider that grew from a common house spider to a freaking tarantula. Que the absolute panic because I *HATE* spiders. Seriously, they creep me out. Too many eyes and too many legs and they just creep around and feel weird and pop out of nowhere. But, I can be a good person (in front of children) and take a non-dangerous spider outside (if it’s dangerous, nope. I will eliminate with extreme prejudice).

BUT ANYWAYS, dreams. They are absolutely WILD. The details fade pretty quickly, but sometimes the general ideas/plots stay with you. If I were a more studious and/or less ADHD person, I’d make a book out of some of the more exciting and exotic dreams I’ve had.

One thing I will say, is that I’m fortunate enough to have never really had any nightmares. Yeah, I have dreams where there are unfortunate circumstances, or sad moments, but nothing that could be described as “nightmare”. Small favours.

I’ve heard so many theories about dreams, that dreams can be prophecies, omens, messages, lessons, and/or guidance. I’m not sure what I believe, as I really can’t think of a message behind my weird acting dream. But, I don’t deny that some dreams can be divine or mystic. I suppose I’ll only get the truth when I’m dead and in the afterlife. I’m hoping for a lot of questions to get answered, haha.

I actually started a new book (yes, I read a lot, but I also was driving for like 6 hours over the past few days, so I had a lot of time for audiobooks) that heavily features a dream. The book is called The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, originally published in 1988 in Portuguese. The whole tale revolves around a boy, Santiago, as he follows his “personal legend”. He had a dream about a young girl telling him that there was treasure to be found at the Pyramids in Egypt. And then he sells his sheep and goes to Africa.

What a move! I’d be absolutely terrified of selling everything and embarking on a arduous journey with no guarantees at the end. I haven’t finished the book, so I don’t actually know how it ends, but I’m sure I’ll make a post about it when I do.

Back to dreams!

I wonder what babies and toddlers dream about. They’re still so new to the world, they haven’t experienced much to even have the imagination to have interesting dreams. Well, interesting to adults. I’m sure they’re interesting to the babies!

I think that’s it for now. More soon!
